I am seeing an ever growing number of plans submitted with construction certificate applications (building permit applications) that have a stamp on them indicating ‘not for construction’. Every time I see this I have to go back to the applicant and request plans ‘for construction’.
I do not understand why plans are submitted as ‘not for construction’?
Are they drafts?
Are they for design only?
If the plans are for a construction certificate application surely they should be ‘for construction’?
Are others approving plans not for construction and then receiving plans for construction on site? If so, why? Am I missing something here?
Do the not for construction and for construction plans differ? Are they consistent with the approval?
I am wrong to never accept and approve plans ‘not for construction’?
Please help me to understand this.
