
Footing
This is a typical steel inspection for a strip footing. Footings come in many shapes and sizes. Pier holes and strip footings are the most common. We thoroughly inspect all aspects of each inspection.
We ensure that the steel is the right type and size, length, thickness and shape, it is in the right location, there is enough concrete cover to the steel, it is supported on chairs, the trenches are clean and free of sediment, tree roots and water.
The based of the footing is firm and level; there is sufficient lap to the steel, it is tied correctly. Plus we look at the sedimentation controls, signage, amenities and if the set out is correct and everything appears to be in accordance with the approval.
A footing inspection can be simple or complex. Footing inspections can take 30 mins to 3-4 hours.

Steel Reinforcement
This is steel reinforcement for a concrete slab. Steel inspections come in all shapes and sizes. They can be for slabs on ground, suspended slabs, core fill block work, columns, etc.
We thoroughly inspect all aspects of each inspection. We ensure that the steel is the right type and size, length, thickness and shape, it is in the right location, there is enough concrete cover to the steel, it is supported on chairs. For suspended slabs we check each and every layer of steel.
Plus we look at the sedimentation controls, signage, amenities and if the set out is correct and if everything appears to be in accordance with the approval.
A steel inspection can be simple or complex. Steel inspections can take 30 mins to 3-4 hours.

Frame
This is a frame inspection for a single storey dwelling house. We thoroughly inspect all aspects of each inspection. This is a termite barrier treated timber framed dwelling with a trussed roof. It also on a concrete slab and has plywood bracing.
We inspect all elements of each frame, plus tie down rods and wall and roof bracing. We even ensure that there are the correct number of nails in bracing units and fixings between all elements.
Plus we look at the sedimentation controls, signage, amenities and if the set out is correct and if everything appears to be in accordance with the approval, including opening sizes and shapes.
Single storey dwelling frame inspections typically take at least an hour, sometimes two hours depending on complexity.

Waterproofing
This is a waterproofing product being applied to a wet area, e.g. bathrooms, ensuites and laundries. We also ensure that any products used are fit for purpose and comply with relevant standards.
We inspect the waterproofing on floors and walls internally before the tiles starts is ‘screed’ or tile bed to ensure that the works not only complies with the standards it meets the Building Code of Australia (BCA) as well.
Plus we look at the sedimentation controls, signage, amenities and if the set out is correct and if everything appears to be in accordance with the approval.
We also inspect water proofing on balconies and patios externally. Internal water proofing inspections typically take less than an hour to inspect.

Fire proofing
This is a fire proofing inspection. Fire proofing inspections can vary with the type of building proposed. It is be fire rated linings, fire rated penetrations, fire services, fire dampers, fire caulking.
Fire proofing inspections are critically important and can take hours in inspect and verify.

Storm Water Drainage
This is a storm water drain. We inspect all stormwater connections. We ensure that the pipe location, type, length and size is correct. The bedding material is correct and there is enough fall in the pipe for a gravity system.
The drainage is far enough away from the building to not cause any structural issues and meets the relevant standards. This is a time to thoroughly inspect the sedimentation controls on the site.
We also inspect signage, amenities and if everything appears to be in accordance with the approval. Storm water drainage inspections typically take at least 30 minutes.

Final
Final inspections bring together all of the aspects of the project. All of the inspections, approvals, legislation, standards, certificates from all of the trades and consultants.
The works needs to be finished and compliant with the approval and the Building Code of Australia. This is often the last change to ensure that everything on site if everything appears to be in accordance with the approval.
All of the inspections listed here are for dwellings and minor works. We can provide further information on all of these inspections and more in further detail at any time. Typically a dwelling final inspection takes 1-2 hours.
