"I had a Development Application with Lismore Council to construct a 24-unit Boutique Hotel in the main street of Nimbin, due to expire on the 25th of July 2023. My requirement was to convert the DA to a ‘construction commenced’ status before expiry. After making 4 enquiries with various members of the business community I was recommended to use Certifiers2U. I made contact in January 23, briefing the company and receiving from them a detailed plan, including a final costing for what needed to be done to achieve a ‘construction commenced’ status before DA expiry.
Their plan involved building removal, and tree and vegetation removal which would surely indicate construction had commenced, even going to the extraordinary lengths of itemizing previous court decisions of vegetation removal being the sole reason that construction had commenced. To make sure of it, Certifiers2U recommended demolishing an outbuilding which was located in the building area of the hotel buildings. Once this work was completed Lismore Council personnel visited the site and ‘ticked’ all the boxes that said, ‘construction has commenced’.
